Extracurricular activities

As a complement to the curriculum, the school offers extracurricular sports activities throughout the academic year.

They begin on October 1st with a program to be announced, and registrations will open shortly.

VOLLEYBALL

Volleyball is a sport that explores various body movements, not only aiding in the motor development of its participants but also in fostering self-esteem, cooperation, discipline, organization, and serving as a means of socialization among students of different genders.

There is a relationship between physical and cognitive skills in volleyball practice: motor coordination, laterality, balance, speed, reflexes, explosive strength, flexibility, attention, construction of non-natural gestures, problem-solving, reasoning, imagination, creativity, decision-making, relationship-building, refinement of spatial/temporal relations, strategy, and judgment.

All these elements developed during training are absorbed and organized by the child in their individual construction within a social environment.

JUDO

Judo was created by Jigoro Kano, an ancient martial art that, through the study of various prestigious jujutsu schools (feudal combat systems), developed a more effective and safer system to practice.

Currently an Olympic sport, Judo utilizes the opponent’s movements to win, emphasizing technique over strength, in a physical and mental harmony, providing constant learning for the judoka.

Due to the type of techniques used, it favors the utilization of natural body movements, aiding in balanced development and posture.

ACROBATIC GYMNASTICS

Acrobatic gymnastics requires agility, strength, coordination, flexibility, and balance from the gymnast, in addition to technical jumping requirements. Routines are performed with musical accompaniment and require expression and body movements perfectly synchronized with the music.

In the composition of pairs and groups in acrobatic gymnastics, there are gymnasts of different ages, heights, and genders, to which we give three designations: bases, intermediates, and flyers. Bases are usually the older members of the pair or group with a taller stature, typically stronger to easily support and balance the flyer. The flyer is the other member of the pair or group, usually younger, with a shorter and lighter physical structure to facilitate collaborative work, also allowing for longer participation in the sport.

Furthermore, this discipline fosters very strong friendships between partners, as well as a spirit of teamwork, and most importantly, trust between partners and coaches.

GYMNASTICS

Gymnastics classes are aimed at students aged 4 to 15.

This is a highly complex sport that encompasses various apparatuses with significantly different and demanding movements in their execution. The classes have as fundamental objectives the development of the body, control of movements, and learning of key gymnastic skills.

SCHOOLS SPORTS

School Sports is recognized as a privileged educational means for the personal and social development of students.

Therefore, we consider the learning of sports to be a priority—not only in psychomotor development but also in the learning of values, which are important for the student’s growth.

The values cultivated within the group dynamics intrinsic to sports activities include humanism, truth and honesty, solidarity, respect and loyalty, discipline, and courage.

The sports practiced within the scope of School Sports at our school are Acrobatic Gymnastics and Volleyball. The competitive framework is subject to the regulations of the Ministry of Education.
