From Nursery to 9th grade. We integrate the arts in the learning process and promote exchanges between cycles.
Because we believe in the power that the arts have in the development of the individual, we ensure an early contact of the child. From nursery to 2 years old, all students have weekly English, dance, music and plastic expression activities. Sensory stimuli play a fundamental role in the initial formation of the human being, so we involve our students in an environment of emotions, visual, auditory and kinesthetic stimuli. From the age of 2, children also have gymnastics in their weekly routine.
Valuing the individuality and personality of each student, the College offers educational conditions that allow them to fully develop their potential, preparing them to face the unprecedented challenges of the future.
Art, understood as the engine of learning, involves students weekly through theater, dance and music classes as well as visual arts activities and concerts, integrated into projects in the fields of language, mathematics, science, motor expression and of personal and social training.
All 3, 4 and 5 year olds have English classes.
In the 1st cycle, active learning is valued, with the student at the center of the process.
The core curricular areas (Portuguese Language, Mathematics and Study of the Environment) are worked in partnership with the arts as a pedagogical tool and for initiation into disciplinary areas such as music, painting, dance and theater. Physical Education, ICT – Information and Communication Technologies and citizenship are also part of the 1st Cycle curriculum. The science component of Middle Study and the teaching of English as a second language are based on the international curriculum according to the Cambridge Assessment.
The national curriculum is worked out in such a way that languages, sciences, arts are articulated to give the student a solid, complete and enriched preparation. Art elevates knowledge.
In the 2nd cycle, dance and theater complete the educational offer as subjects and in the 3rd cycle, interdisciplinary projects are developed with the arts (dance, theatre, music, multimedia and visual) that meet one of the main guidelines of the model of our College, creativity.
The teaching of English as a second language is done according to the international curriculum of the Cambridge Assessment system and the teaching of mathematics and science has integrated content in English and the international curriculum.
